Circus
crafts for kids are a great thing for circus lovers or people throwing
a circus themed party. Everyone loves the circus but unfortunately it
is only around during certain times of the year, until now. Bring the
circus to life at your house with our fun, easy, and age specific
circus crafts for kids.
Clown Costume Shoes (ages
6+ with adult assistance)
For this craft you will need:
Two shoe boxes
Tape or a hot glue gun (to be handled by an adult)
Scissors
A glue stick
Colored Paper or wrapping paper
Decorations (stickers, markers, etc.)
Cover both shoe boxes (tops and bottoms) with colored paper
or with wrapping paper that has a nice design. Attach the colored paper
to the box with a glue stick to eliminate the mess that comes along
with using glue.
Have an adult cut a hole in the top of each lid. The hole
should be big enough for the child's foot inside the box through the
lid.
Attach the lid and the bottom of the box together with tape
or have an adult attach them together with a hot glue gun.
Decorate the shoe's however you want using various
materials.
Clown Mask (ages 8+)
For this craft you will need:
A paper plate
A hole puncher
Elastic string
Colored paper
Glue
Markers
One red pom-pom
Scissors
Cardboard
Take the paper plate and draw to round holes where your
eyes would be and a macaroni shaped hole where your mouth is.
Using scissors, carefully cut out the holes. To start
cutting, carefully poke the scissors into the edge of the hole
and then start cutting from there.
Place the paper plate so one third of it is on the
consruction. Trace the circle onto the colored paper.
After tracing the line, start at the beginning and make
cemicircles on top of the line until the end (the goal is to make the
piece look like hair when you glue it on).
Cut out the piece and glue it on to the plate above the
eyes. If it covers the eys, cut it a little shorter.
Cut out a triangle from construction paper and once from
cardboard. The two triangles should be exactely the same size.
Clue the paper triangle onto the carboard triangle.
Glue the triangle on top of the hair to make a hat.
Use markers to color circles around the eye holes.
Color around the mouth hole, following the shape of the
hole.
Glue the pom-pom to the middle of the plate to make a nose.
Punch a hole on each side of the plate.
Cut a piece of elastic that is a little smaller then how
long it take to go around the child's head.
Tie one end of the elastic to one of the holes in the plate
and tie the other end to the other hole.
Put on your completed mask.
As an alternative, glue many pom-poms onto the plate as oppossed to
glueing on the construction paper to make hair. Our circus crafts for
kids may be done by children younger then the age specified next to the
title, but they may require more assistance.
