Turkey Made By Me (ages 5+)
This turkey is fun to make and looks great when you are finished. It is very easy along with our other free Thanksgiving crafts. For this project you will need: - Green, yellow, orange, red, blue, and brown construction paper - Glue - A pencil - Scissors 1. On the brown paper, trace both your feet with the pencil and cut them out. 2. Glue the feet together at the heels so the toes fan out at the bottom. 3. Cut out eyes from yellow paper and a beak, legs, and a wattle from orange paper. 4. Glue the eyes, beak, and wattle at the heels of the feet and glue the two legs at the toes. 5. Trace your hand with the pencil on green, yellow, red, blue, and orange paper. 6. With the scissors, cut out two orange hands and one hand of the rest of the colors. 7. Glue an orange hand on each side of the turkey to make wings. 8. Glue the rest of hands in a fan around the turkey to make the tail. You may wish to include the date you made your turkey on the back so you can see how much you have grown next Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is about how the Pilgrims were thankful for their harvest and the help that the Native Americans gave them. Stamps from Nature is a perfect way to use harvested fruits and vegetables.For this project you will need: - A sharp knife(used by an adult) - Fruits and vegetables - A towel - Powder paints in a variety of colors - Water - A paintbrush - Plastic lids - Paper 1. Ask an adult to cut the fruits and vegetables in half. 2. Dry the cut sides with a paper towel. 3. With adult help, if needed, mix the powder paint and water to a thick consistency and put some paint on a lid. 4. Repeat step three using all of the colors of paint you have. Be sure to use a different lid for each color.6. Press the cut side with paint on it firmly onto a sheet of paper. 7. Repeat step 6 as many times as desired. Create different designs using different fruits and vegetables in different colors. The fruits and vegetables can be used to make several easy Thanksgiving crafts for kids. Using the fruits and vegetables dipped in paint you can create paintings and wrapping paper. This project along with our other free Thanksgiving crafts can be done with kids as young as four with adult assistance. Most children will need help with steps 1-4.
