Ladybug Crafts

Ladybug crafts are great for the entire family. Ladybugs are pretty animals and make good topics for crafts because they are very fun and familiar. Our crafts are perfect for family craft time, gift-giving, or a ladybug themed party. Chose a craft, have fun, and explore the amazing world of ladybugs!

Ladybug Brooch (ages 7+)

This craft makes a great gift!

For this craft you will need:

  • One plastic spoon
  • Plaster of Paris (can be found at hardware, craft, and hobby stores)
  • Red and black craft paints
  • Paintbrushes
  • A jar with water (to wash the paintbrushes)
  • One safety pin
  • Clear varnish (optional)
  1. Mix the plaster of paris.
  2. Fill the spoon with the plaster to the top. Be sure the plaster is level.
  3. Press the safety pin into the wet plaster so that it opens out. Let the plaster harden for an hour.
  4. Pop out the brooch.
  5. Paint the brooch red.
  6. Use the black paint to make eyes, wings with polka dots, and a head.
For more fun, make the blank brooch and draw other designs on it. Turn it in to the perfect gift by drawing someone's favorite animal on it or a cool design. Like all of our ladybug crafts, the most important thing is to be creative.

My Ladybug (ages 4+)

For this craft you will need:
  • Markers
  • A paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Decorating materials (such as bows, felt, and ribbon)
  1. Take the paper plate and cut off the ridged edges so the only part left is the smooth inner circle.
  2. Color a ladybug on the circle with markers.
  3. Attach googly eyes with glue.
  4. Decorate the ladybug. Give the ladybug a pretty bow or cut out circle of black felt and give the ladybug polka dots. Try different combinations and be creative!
We try to make our ladybug crafts open and free for personalization so you can take our craft and make it your own. Be creative and make your project special to you!
