Sheep Poster
(ages 5+)
For this craft you will need:
- Blue poster board
- White, green, and black paint
- Paintbrushes
- Jars with water (for cleaning the brushes)
- Cotton balls
- Scissors
- Glue
- Take a piece of blue poster board. Cut it to a
desired size.
- Paint grass on the bottom of the poster board
using the green paint. Be sure to wash your brush before using another
color of paint.
- Draw the outline of a sheep on the poster board
using the black paint. Make the middle/stomach of the sheep fairly
large. We found it works best if you do a side view of the sheep.
- Fill in the outline with black paint. Let dry.
- Use the white paint to draw features on the
face such as eyes and a nose.
- Glue many cotton balls onto the stomach to make
a puffy wool coat.
- Feel free to use other materials to personalize
the sheep such as ribbons and sticker. Be creative!
Model Sheep (ages 8+)
For this craft you will need:
- One large foam ball
- One medium foam ball
- Four small foam balls
- Small, black foam circles
- Glue
- Two tacks with one flat end
- A black permanent marker
- Toothpicks
- The medium foam ball will be the head. Attach
the black foam circles to the flat ends of the tacks. Stick them in the
head. This will be the eyes.
- Draw a mouth and a nose on the head using the
black permanent marker. If this doesn't come out well, you can also you
black paint or black glitter glue.
- Stick a toothpick into the opposite side of the
medium ball and stick the other end into the large foam ball. The large
ball will be the body.
- Stick one toothpick in each of the small foam
balls. Stick the other end in the large foam ball with two small balls
on each side. The small balls will be the legs.
Feel free to decorate the sheep however you would like. For an
interesting twist, do this craft with clay instead. Sculpt one large
ball, one medium ball, and four small balls out of clay instead of
buying foam ones. Either of our sheep crafts can be done with different
materials for a more creative, personal experience.
